RCH (Radio Controlled Hobbies) were owned by Larry van Osten, and were one of the very first RC “tuners”. They made some legendary parts for the Tamiya SRB series, like the monoshock and the nylon suspension parts. Van Osten died in the summer of 2016. His son has made it clear to me that they regard their rivals, CRP and its owner Mike Tobey as crooks, that stole ideas and concepts from his fathers company. I have asked him to elaborate on this, but have not heard back. As I cannot reach Tobey for comments either, I cannot regard this as anything but a feud between two rivals, where I have only been presented one side of the story. I will of course update if I hear back from Van Osten JR.
UPDATE: I have now been in contact with Larry van Ostens son, so stay tuned for more info on van Osten and the history of RCH. I’m really excited by this, as this is a part of the RC history that has been missing.
