The first Javelin 2017 promo pictures

As reported last week, here are the first promo pictures of the new Javelin 2017 re-release.

In addition to the changes made for the Optima 2016, the other noticeable differences from the original are the rear part of the cage and a separate head for the driver (as usual on the “Legendary Series”). It’s also nice to see they actually used my idea for a wing mount from my “Turbo Optima Pro Special” 🙂 You are welcome, Akira-san!

This is not a web-shop, and beside what’s listed under the “FOR SALE” tab in the menu, nothing presented here is for sale, so please don’t ask. If I have anything I would like to sell, I’ll post it in the “FOR SALE” section.

I have been into RC cars since the beginning of the 80's, but have really never been much of a racer. I competed in some local races and some "Tamiya Cups", and actually came 6th in the Tamiya Cup Norwegian Nationals in 1987. My main interest has always been building and modifying, and that's where I still am today. Through the years I have been able to build a solid network of contacts around the world, consisting of both former and current members of the industry, as well as quite a few of the former top drivers. I have a genuine interest for the history of the 1/10 scale off-road buggies from the 80's.

  1. I’ve just been informed that orange, green, yellow and white cages will be available this year, while red and black cages will be released early next year! Plenty of choices!

    • Not 100% finished, yet (as most of my builds, lol). Basically a re-re Optima with black Pargu chassis parts, velvet triple cap shocks (small bore), 2.2″ wheels and tires, custom made carbon shock towers and radio plate, Optima Pro body/undercowl with custom decals made to look like the Turbo Optima Mid Special decals, Optima Mid wing etc.

  2. The optima pro body looks great in white with a wing, a marked improvement compared to the original box art dark yellow brown. It really got me confused the first few seconds, the other half of my brain kept saying “mid”…
This concept of mixing products is great. I wonder what an actual mid would look like with a javelin-style roll cage?

    • Thanks. I don’t have many pics yet, and some of the pics are older with other wheels, tires, shocks, bumper etc.
